SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES AT CHAPIN BAPTIST CHURCH

 

Agape

This class consists of members who are mostly retired married couples, but they also have a few younger couples and single adults. “Explore the Bible” curriculum is taught by Gerald Hunter, Robert Tenny, and Michael Dey. Class members enjoy in-depth discussion and good fellowship outside of Sunday mornings. The class meets at 9:45 am in Room 102.


Married Couples

This class consists of married couples, with or without children, most of whom are in their late 30s to mid 40s. They seek the Lord through intentional conversation, discipleship, and exposition of God's Word. They welcome newcomers and encourage participation and sharing. The class is taught by DJ Flynn and Sam Rivera and meets at 9:45 am in Room 309.


Breaking Bread

This class is made up of singles and married couples whose ages range from mid-40s to 70s. They study various books of the Bible. Breaking Bread exists for the purpose of glorifying God by studying and living out the Scriptures. They experience fellowship with other believers by encouraging, supporting, helping, and praying for one another. The class is taught by Mack Goodwin and occasionally by other members of the class and meets at 9:45 am in Room 308.


Coed V

This class supports each other through the challenges and joys of life.  Most are in their 50s to 60s and have grown children, and some are blessed to have grandchildren to spoil. Under Champ McGee’s leadership, several experienced members alternate teaching responsibilities. They enjoy studying God’s Word, as well as eating, since they have stellar cooks in the class. In good times and in bad, they support one another! They meet at 9:45 am in Room 306.


Eyes on Jesus

This class consists of adults, most of whom are married and “empty nester.” Their studies focus on the finished work of Jesus Christ alone. Their intent is to emphasize Jesus’ awesome power and love, inviting all to come to Him. They focus on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and demonstrate that while resting in Him, transformation of our lives will occur, and we will have all that He promises. Come and experience the peace that only He gives! This class is taught by Greg Stanley and  meets at 9:45 am in Room 312.


Serendipity

This class consists of singles and couples, ranging from ages 55 to 75. They use a variety of study materials, but always with specific Bible-based focus and with provided booklet commentaries for each attendee. Past examples include Charles Swindoll, David Jeremiah, and specific books of the Bible. Roland Bradford and other members of the class alternate quarterly teaching and facilitating participant involvement. They strive to be ministry focused through fellowship, in-reach, and outreach. This class meets at 9:45 am in Room 303.


Joy Class

This class consists of the most seasoned ladies! They enjoy meeting on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 am in Room 104 to study and discuss “Explore the Bible” curriculum. The teacher of this class is Cheryl Vaughan.


Ladies III

This class consists of senior adult ladies, most of whom are retired. They are currently using “Bible Studies for Life” curriculum. The ladies enjoy fellowship outside of their Sunday morning class as well. The teacher of this class is Annette Davis, and they meet at 9:45 am in Room 105.


The Journey 

This class is made up of singles and couples of all ages. They love to fellowship together outside of class. Many serve in various ministries of Chapin Baptist.  Classes consist of in-depth studies and guided discussions through various books of the Bible. The teachers of this class is Doug Collier and Troy Handeland. They meet at 9:45 am in the Fellowship Hall.


The Koinonia Class

This class is a very caring group of adults who pray and minister to one another in times of need. Its members are very active in ministering to the church and the community. Koinonia consists predominately of senior adults (60 years old and older), but welcomes younger adults to join them. This class is studying the central themes of the Scriptures, beginning in Genesis and moving slowly through the Bible, observing how God reveals His glory through His Word. The teacher of this class is Jeff Hilton, and they meet at 9:45 am in Room 101.

 

The Reviewers

This class consists of singles and couples. Most are in their 60s and 70s. They study through books of the Bible.  The teacher of this class is Billy Gardner, and they meet at 9:45 am in Room 304. The class also gathers every Tuesday evening at an area restaurant for fun, food, and fellowship.
